I absolutely love fiction, but tend not to dedicate much time to it myself in between uni and what painting I can get done in between it. In light of this along with the series of paintings Ive done with little real direction Id very much like to give fiction-go-ers something fun! This competition is OPEN from now until
January 1st 2013!WHATS THIS ALL ABOUT?I have painted a series of pictures that go together. In the past I have been asked about the story behind them, however I have to admit Im a dreadful artist and generally theres nothing too deep in any of my artwork. I see something cool in my head - I paint/draw it! However this series of pictures has most certainly evolved to a point where they could paint images of a fantastic journey. What is it? you decide!
RULESIm not a fan of rules and all they do in this case is squander creativity!

Competition is OPEN until January 1st 2013!* The fiction can be as long or as short as you like.
* The story should be inspired by this series of scifi paintings.
* You are free to create characters from people depicted in the images in any way you see fit.
* You want one of them to die a horrible death? no worries!
* The story you tell must take place in a science fiction universe
* Im in Astrophysics, I'l know if you explain your star-drive badly
(just kidding, if you want it to be powered by hopes and dreams thats cool with me)
* Stories containing gore or any other explicit material is fine. (note: vampires dont sparkle in space)
JUDGINGFiction will be judged by a panel of three people. The following qualities will be something we are looking for:
* Character development
Characters, just like humans (but not Edward) are flawed. Sometimes characters are hated, other times they might struggle to be kind, or compassionate. Its important that characters have well defined strengths and weaknesses
* The world you create
One of the greatest wonders of science fiction are the wonderful worlds of tomorrow that are created. This sets scifi apart from fantasy in that unlike fantasy, scifi stories could just as well take place five minutes from now. Even in short science fiction stories, the ability to create an environment and give the reader a feel for the place they are in is important.
* Overarching Themes
Science Fiction often deals with important issues of today, in the far future. The quality of themes used in your fiction are important and considered closely.
* Quality and Quantity
Given the length of your piece we will be looking at how effectively you portrayed the above things within your story.

First place will receive a Fella bundle from the DA store and 400 points to put towards whatever your heart desires!
*Second Place
Second place will receive a DA accessory pack and 400 points.
*Third Place
Third place will receive 800 points to spend in the DA store, or towards whatever evil plans they're planning.
